Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation collects and disseminates environmental data to catalyze conservation initiatives worldwide.
- Be the most efficient provider of hard-to-attain environmental data.
- Grow a network of informed advocates intimately involved in hands-on conservation.
- Serve as an invaluable connector between the conservation and outdoor communities.
Conservation is often hindered by insufficient scientific information: Data collection can be expensive, time consuming, logistically difficult and physically demanding. But this information is essential for scientists, managers and the public to make sound conservation decisions
The outdoor recreation community is poised to help solve some of the world’s most pressing conservation challenges. This motivated group of capable people has the skills, equipment and time to gather otherwise unattainable data.
Identifying projects where these individuals can have the greatest impact, we recruit, train and manage volunteers on targeted conservation research projects designed in cooperation with our partner scientists.
We believe disseminating the information gathered is of equal importance, and here again the outdoor community is strong. With a tradition of storytelling and the backing of the outdoor industry, we’re able to share conservation stories with the world.
